Jim was raised in or around Army bases in the Southeast. He has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech. He has lived in the Atlanta area since 1977 and in Dunwoody since 1983. He lives with his wife. They have one son, Ray.

Professional background

Jim has worked in engineering, IT management and consulting for more than 30 years.

Political background

Jim Riticher is currently the Dunwoody city council member representing District 2. He was first elected in 2013 and has served two terms.

Public Services

Supports creating an independent school system.

Wants to "make the new Chamblee-Dunwoody Elementary a reality ASAP."

Supports building the Perimeter Center East Park, building on the old Austin Elementary School site and building on the Vermack Road property with community input.
