Sharon was born and raised in Atlanta. She attended Atlanta Public Schools. She is a member of the National League of Cities. She has lived in East Point for more than 35 years and has two sons.

Sharon currently works for the federal government.

Sharon Shropshire is currently the East Point city council member representing Ward A At-Large. She was first elected in 2013 and has served two terms.

Plans to host a "Developers' Tour" where she will show local developers development opportunities in the city.
