Officers responded to a domestic incident involving Chris, his wife and several others after a night of drinking and karaoke. According to police reports, when authorities arrived, the "highly intoxicated" councilman threw objects at his wife. Witnesses said another man tried to intervene in the argument between Chris and his wife, and he was found "bleeding profusely" from his face at the scene. A spokesperson for the City of Kennesaw said, "under both Georgia law and the Kennesaw Charter, no action can be taken at this stage unless the council member is formally indicted."
