She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Start, and Traveler’s Rest Baptist Church in Morrow, Georgia. She has one son.

Alieka is the founder and Chief Executive Officer for the Colin Powell Military Academy: The Anderson Foundation, Inc for 4 years. She also is an Instructional Support Specialist for Dekalb County School System. She previously worked at AdvanceED, Dekalb County School District, Atlanta Public Schools, and Fulton County Schools.

Dr. Alieka Anderson is currently the County Commissioner representing District 1 of Clayton County. She was elected in 2021 for a special elections and is serving her first term. She served as a Clayton County Board of Education Member for 13 years, and she was elected into the Board of Education in 2008.
