Catherine is co-founder and chief operating officer of a education nonprofit in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She used to work as a teacher in a two-classroom, k-8 school on the Rosebud Lakota Sioux Reservation, executive director for the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, and then as assistant state superintendent of fiscal operations and federal support at the Louisiana Department of Education.
