Fun has a degree from the University of Arkansas. He is married and has an adult daughter. He and his family have lived in Cobb County, Georgia for 25 years.

Fun is a doctor. He has worked at EmCare for the last 30 years as an associate medical director and staff emergency physician. He previously worked with the Department of Energy, the National Disaster Medical System, and the Centers for Disease Control.

Fun Fong's campaign for state representative is his first entry into politics.
