Saira is from Georgia. She has a bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a law degree from Georgetown University. She lives in the Atlanta area with her family.

Saira is a civil rights lawyer. She works for the Southern Poverty Law Center. Previously, she was in the U.S. Peace Corps.

Saira Draper was the Georgia Director of Voter Protection for the State Democratic Party for the 2020 elections. Her campaign for State Representative is her first entry into elected politics.
