Jen Jordan has served as a state Senator for the 6th District since 2017. Jordan serves as Chairman of the Senate Special Judiciary Committee and as a member of the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions, Government Oversight, Interstate Cooperation, Science and Technology, and Reapportionment and Redistricting Committees.

Professional background

Jen Jordan has practiced law for 20 years in Georgia. After graduating from University of Georgia Law School in 2001 she served as a federal law clerk to United States District Court Judge Anthony Alaimo. She then moved to Atlanta to begin practicing law at the firm Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore. In 2005, she filed the lawsuit to delay enforcement of a newly passed voter ID law, and in 2015 she filed suit against then Secretary of State Brain Kemp over what she called an unlawful data breach. She has served as a Georgia State Senator since 2017.

Personal background

Jen Jordan grew up in Eastman, Georgia. She was raised by a single mom who worked as a hairdresser. She credits her teachers with encouraging her to seek an education. She graduated magna cum laude from University of Georgia Law School in 2001. She then moved to Atlanta to start practicing law and now lives in Fulton County with her husband and two kids.
