Rick has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Cornerstone University and a master's degree in business administration from Michigan State University. He and his wife, Donna, have been married for 32 years and have three children.

Rick used to be a facility operations manager for engineering firm CH2M Hill and has also owned his own renovation, remodeling and repair business. He worked at IBM for more than 20 years.

Rick Mohrig is currently the city council member representing district 3, post 2. He was first elected in 2006. He resumed office in 2013 and, since then, has been in office for more than three terms.
