Glen has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Northern Virginia Community College. He lives with his wife in Manassas. He attends First Baptist Church in Manassas.

Glen used to be a police officer. He was the first Black man to join the Manassas City Policy Department. He served in the U.S. Army.

Glen Hill is currently sheriff representing Prince William County. He was first elected in 2004 and has been in office for five terms.

As sheriff, he started the Civil Disturbance Unit, which manages large protests and other events.
