Amy is originally from the Phoenix area. She earned her bachelor's degree in business from the University of Phoenix and a master's in healthcare administration from Capella University. Amy lives with her husband and their 2 children in the Kyrene School District, where they have resided for almost 20 years. She has volunteered for Junior Achievement, Art Masterpiece, book fairs, general classroom support, school clubs, and chaperoned field trips. She was also a den leader for her son's Boy Scout troop for 3 years and a Girl Scout volunteer for 2 years.

Amy currently works in healthcare administration.
