Joyce was appointed by the President of the National Association of Counties (NAC0) to serve on NACOs Justice and Public Safety Policy Steering Committee. She is also a member of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and the 2004 recipient of the Emory Greene Leadership Award.
