Segun received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron and a Master's in Management Information Systems from The Lawrence Technological University. He serves on the Nigerian American Public Affairs Committee, the Gwinnett County Democratic, and the Gwinnett County Tree Board. He currently resides in Grayson, Gwinnett County, Georgia with his wife and their three children.

Segun was an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Phoenix and Wayne County Community College District in Michigan. He also has experience in Information Technology for companies including General Motors, HP, and Cisco Systems.

 Segun Adeyina is currently the State Representative in State House District 110. He has been in office since 2022 and has served one term in this position. He previously ran for Gwinnett County Public Schools school board District I, but did not win.
