Bruce studied business administration at Furman University and risk management & insurance at the University of Georgia. He lives in Walton County with his family.

Bruce is the owner of Williamson Properties. He served as the CEO of Williamson Insurance Agency, Inc. & Williamson & Musselwhite Ins. Agency, Inc., as well as the CEO of Main Street Insurance Services, Inc.

Bruce Williamson was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Majority Caucus Chairman. He also serves on the Rules Committee, Governmental Affairs Committee, Banks and Banking Committee, Insurance Committee, Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee and the Ways & Means committee. Williamson chairs the Income Tax Subcommittee on Ways & Means.
