Anissa has a doctor of chiropractic from Life University. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Fort Valley State University and an MBA from Wesleyan College. Anissa is an Advocate with Citizen Advocacy, and a member of the Sisterhood organization, promoting HIV/Aids awareness and testing. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Anissa is a Macon native. 

Anissa is a director for the Georgia Chiropractic Association.

Anissa Jones was elected District 1 representative of the Macon Water Authority in 2018. She was appointed to chair the authority’s Personnel Committee and serve on the Board of Directors for Macon Soils, the Macon Water Alliance, and the Engineering, Pension and Trustee, and Finance Committees.
