Bethany lives in Warner Robins with her husband and their two sons. They attend Perry United Methodist Church, and Bethany is the Acolyte Coordinator and serves on the church’s scholarship committee. She has a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of North Carolina, and a master's degree in English from the University of Central Arkansas. 

Bethany taught high school English in various locations at her husband's duty stations before becoming a politician. 

Since 2012, Bethany has served in Georgia Republican Party leadership at the county, district, and state levels.
