Leesa has a degree in education from the University of Georgia. She is a member of Grace Community Presbyterian Church in Lyons. She lives in Toombs County, Georgia with her husband, and they have two college-aged sons. 

Leesa was an educator in public, private, and home school settings for 13 years. She started a consulting firm for small business owners to reach more customers online. 

Leesa Hagan was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in a 2021 special election and served for the remainder of the 2021-2022 legislative term. She serves as House Majority Deputy Whip, Secretary of the House Rural Caucus, a member of the GA WORKS Licensing Commission, and was appointed by Speaker Burns to the House Rural Development Council.
