Lehman grew up in Statesboro, and graduated from Statesboro High School before obtaining his bachelor's degree in business administration from the Citadel Military College and his master's degree in business administration from Georgia Southern University. He resides in Stilson with his wife.

Lehman is the Dealer Principle of the Franklin Automotive Group, which includes Franklin Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Toyota. He previously managed a motel business.

Lehman Franklin has served on the Georgia House of Representatives District 160 since 2023.
