Laura is an immigrant from Mexico who moved to Minnesota at the age of eight and now resides in Johns Creek, Georgia. She earned a bachelor's in political science from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan. Laura is married and has two children. 

Laura has served as a corporate executive at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. and Equifax, where she worked as a senior negotiator. She started her own small business as the Georgia Area Developer for a national wine franchise. Previously, she received a job offer from the Federal Reserve Bank.
