Deborah is from Sandy Springs, Georgia and graduated from Riverwood High School. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Georgia, and a juris doctor from Emory University. She is married to her husband Hal, with whom she has two children. She is involved with several government committees, including the Health & Human Services, Judiciary Non-Civil and State Planning & Community Affairs committees, and is on the chair of the House and Senate joint MARTOC Committee.
