Yasmin Neal was born in Clayton County, Georgia. She graduated from Jonesboro High School. Holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and police science from American Military University, and a master's degree in business administration from Strayer University. 

Yasmin worked as the head of political/civic partnerships and data aggregation at Empowrd Apps LLC. Former police officer and investigator with the Clayton County Police Department. She was the press secretary for the Young Democrats of Georgia. 

Yasmin Neal is the current State Representative for Georgia District 79. She also served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013 representing the 75th district.
