Georgia General Assembly, David Lucas Sr.

David has earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Tuskegee Institute, a doctorate from Mercer University’s Medical School, and an Honorary Doctorate of Law from Mercer University. He lives in Macon with his wife. They have four children.

David helped found the 100 Black Men and the Al Lucas Scholarship Foundation.

David E Lucas Sr. served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1975 until 2012 when he was elected to the Georgia State Senate. This is his 11th year serving as a State Senator. He is a member of the Senate Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism, Regulated Industries and Utilities, Transportation and Urban Affairs Committees.
