Randy is married and has four children, as well as four granddaughters. They are active members of the First Baptist Church in Columbus. The Robertson family resides in Cataula, Georgia. Randy attended Columbus State University's Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Administration, Command College, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. His volunteer experience includes serving as a Rotary Club member. 

Randy founded Perfect Policing, LLC, serving as the Director of Homeland Security in Columbus, GA, and as major in the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office. He also served as the president of the Fraternal Order of Police Georgia State Lodge and Vice President of the Georgia Fraternal Order of Police. 

Randy Robertson is a member of the Georgia State Senate, representing District 29. He assumed office in 2019.
