Matt is from Newnan, Georgia and attended Newnan High School., and received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Georgia. Matt is married and has three children. He is also a member of the Newnan Rotary and serves as a Deacon at Newnan Presbyterian Church. 

Matt is the president of Brass Construction, where he has been for the past four years. He previously served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Matt Brass is currently State Senator representing the District 28. He was elected in 2016 and has served four terms. He is the chair of the Senate Rules Committee.
