Personal background

David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, then went on to earn his MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree from The Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives with his wife, Alfredia, and together they have two daughters and two grandchildren. He gives guest sermons in area churches. David is originally from Aynor, South Carolina, and has lived in Florida, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Professional background

David was previously a budget analyst for the Govenor's Office on Budget, and the president of Dayn-Mark Advertising, his own advertising company. He also created and performed in the PBS television program "Langston!" and created a radio program called "Inside Black America."

Political background

David Scott is a US Representative for Georgia Congressional District 13. He was then elected to this position in 2002, and is currently serving his 10th term as U.S. Representative. He currently serves on the Agriculture Committee, the Financial Services Committee, and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. He was previously elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 1974.
