Eugene and his wife have two children. He is a member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta. He was born in South Korea, living in Augusta since 1972, when his parents and four brothers immigrated to the U.S. He obtained citizenship while serving 3 years in the Army.

Professional background

Eugene owned a business that refurbished U.S. military trucks for export to foreign countries in Augusta, Georgia, before selling it to campaign full time in the 2014 primary elections. Prior to owning his own business, Eugene was a police officer at Richmond County Police Department. He was military police for the US Army during the Korean War, and prior to that worked as a direfighter for the Suburban Fire Department.

Political background

Eugene Yu has previously run in elections for U.S. Representative, but has not won.

Opposes government control and regulations on the market.
