Mark is a native of Oconee County. He graduated from Oconee County High and the University of Georgia for Agricultural Engineering Department, and Southern Polytechnic State University’s Land Surveying Program. He holds a Georgia unrestricted electrical license, utility manager license, HVAC license, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (Level 1A) Certification, and OSHA Trenching and Excavation Certification. Mark and his wife, Dianne have three children. Mark has been a member of the Oconee County Industrial Development Authority (2015-2016), Oconee County Board of Education (2011-2016). Mark has also served in his church as Board Chair, Trustee, Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and building team chairman.

Mark and his wife, Dianne, are the owners of Hot Thomas BBQ, Inc., a family business passed down from Mark’s mother and father. Mark is also the owner of Mark Thomas Enterprises, Inc., a grading, electrical, and mechanical contractor business. He has owned this business since 1988.

Mark H. Thomas is running for re-election to the Oconee County Commissioner Board Post 1 in Georgia. He has served two terms.
