Lawana is a lifelong resident of Carroll County. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Lawana worked in the Carroll County school system for 30 years before retiring in 2022.

Lawana Knight is currently a member of the Carroll County Board of Education. She was appointed in 2023 to finish the unexpired term of a previous board member.
