Julia Wells is the County Board of Education Member in Jefferson County School Board District 4. She was elected in 2020 and has served one term in this position.

Julia served nearly 20 years as the principal at Wrens Middle School. She began her career as an English teacher at Wadley High School and then became the assistant principal at Louisville Academy.

Julia obtained her bachelor’s degree from Fort Valley University and her master’s and specialist’s degrees from Georgia College in Milledgeville. She was the first Teacher of the Year (TOTY) at JCHS during the school’s first year and was the county’s TOTY that year. She was also a member of the inaugural class of Leadership Jefferson County. Currently, she shares guardianship of her nephew and niece who attend Jefferson County schools, and is a member of the Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church.
