Hatten, McAlexander and Neal seek Troup County School Board District 5 seat 

Dan helped launch the local Racial Trustbuilding Initiative and is president of the LaGrange Rotary Club.


Dan is the former president of LaGrange College.

Opposes school vouchers for private institutions and said, "It does rob the schools most in need — those over 25% performance —  usually in areas of high poverty, often in rural areas where there aren’t private schools for that amount of money."

Was inspired to run by the progress of the school system as students come out of the difficult times caused by COVID.
