JUDGE SHUKURA L. INGRAM

New Fulton County Superior Court Judge Appointed

Shukura and her husband Marlon have two children. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Clark Atlanta University and her Juris Doctor from the Georgia State University College of Law. She is a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and the Atlanta Bar Association.

Before her role as a Superior Court Judge, Shukura worked as a judge for the magistrate court of Fulton County. She previously served as an assistant solicitor in the Atlanta Municipal Court and as an assistant district attorney in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit. She also spent time in private practice. 

Shakura Ingram is a superior court judge in Fulton County. She was appointed to the role in 2018. She served as a magistrate court judge from 2015 to 2018.

- Georgia Superior Court Judges hear a wide range of criminal cases from petty theft and public drunkenness to murder. Some cases in front of the Georgia Superior Court involve the death penalty. 
- On the civil side, Superior Court Judges hear cases on divorce, titles to land, contract disputes, and premises liability. 
- Superior Court Judges are elected by judicial circuit. Each county surrounding Atlanta has its own judicial circuit, while rural judicial districts typically consist of multiple counties.
