Sonya holds an associate's degree from South Central Kentucky Community and Technical College and a degree in medical assisting from Davidson Technical College. Sonya is married to her husband, Jeff, with whom she has 2 daughters and 1 grandson. She lives in Bowling Green. She is a volunteer with the Browning Volunteer Fire Department. 

Sonya currently works as an administrative assistant for the Allied Health & Nursing Department at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College. She also works as an emergency medical technician at Western Kentucky University. She also worked in various positions under the Clerk of the Circuit Court, including deputy clerk, supervisor, and chief deputy. She is the president of Warren County Girls Youth Softball. 

Sonya Corder previously ran for Clerk of the Circuit Court in Warren County in Kentucky in 2018 but did not win.

She also earned another degree in medical assisting from Davidson Technical College, and she is a licensed EMT in the state of Kentucky. Sonya lives with her husband, Jeff, in Bowling Green. They have 2 daughters and 1 grandson. 

Sonya currently works as an administrative assistant for the Allied Health & Nursing Department at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College.
