William attended Montana Technological University, and holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Montana, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Montana School of Law. He is married to his wife, Helen, with whom they have five children together.

William received a degree in economics from University of Montana. He then earned a law degree from them University of Montana School of Law in 1988. He currently lives with his wife, Helen, and their five children.

He first began practicing civil law with the firm of Burgess, Joyce & Whelan, He then, worked at Joyce & Starin before co-founding this firm in 2002.
