Ric is a graduate of Montana State University-Bozeman, where he earned a degree in business management with minors in business finance and business marketing. He and his wife have three children. He is a member of many Montana farm organizations, including the Montana Stockgrowers, Montana Farm Bureau, and Montana Woolgrowers Association.
