Dave graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and earned both a law degree and MBA from Campbell. Dave is married to Haden Wakefield Payne Boliek. They have 4 children. Dave is an elder at Highland Presbyterian Church and has served on its Session. 

Dave is a lawyer at his own private practice. Before that, he was an assistant district attorney. Dave serves on the Board of Trustees at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he has held roles supervising UNC's endowment.

Jessica Holmes has experience as an attorney who has served at the NC Industrial Commission, overseeing workers' compensation claims.

Jessica Holmes is currently the Auditor for North Carolina. She was appointed to this position in 2023, and has served one term in the position. She was also the youngest-ever elected Wake County commissioner and was elected as Chair of Wake County Commission during her tenure.
