Professional background

Brent is a farmer and contract grower for Smithfield Foods. He is also a small business owner, and has his own hog farm operation. He was previously a member of the Cape Fear Farm Credit Advisory Board.

Political background

Brent is the current county commissioner for Columbus County's District 5. He was elected in 2020. Brent was previously elected to the North Carolina Farm Bureau as a board member, as well as the Southern States Advisory Board.

Public Services

Advocates for bridging the gap between the county commissioner's office, the sheriff's department, state officials, and the school board in order to create a more harmonious, smooth-running county.
