Chuck is a lifelong resident of Wilkes County and a member of the North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church. He attended Wilkes Central High and graduated from Wofford College. Chuck is married to Shari, and together they have 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren.

Chuck is currently a local journalist for the Wilkes Journal-Patriot.
