Seth holds a medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Family Practice.

Seth works as a family physician in Zanesville. He is affiliated with Genesis Hospital. 

Seth Vensil currently serves as the Muskingum County Coroner. He was elected to this position in 2020 and is serving his first term.

- The County Coroner runs the Coroner’s Office, which is responsible for conducting an unbiased investigation on the cause, manner, and circumstance of death.  
- The Coroner is responsible for pronouncing someone dead, for photographing and documenting the place of death, and for releasing remains to be cremated, transported to another state, or autopsied. 
- They are also responsible for collecting evidence at the location of death. This includes physical evidence and interviews from witnesses. 
- Coroners are responsible for removing the body from the place of death, and informing their family of their death in a timely manner. 
- Coroners are elected to four year terms in nonpartisan elections.
