Matt was born and raised in Berlins Heights. He holds a degree from Bowling Green State University. 

Matt works as a director at OneOhio Recovery Foundation. He previously worked as a high school teacher. 

Matt Old currently serves as an Erie County Commissioner. He is serving his 2nd term. He serves as vice president of the board of commissioners. He previously served as a served as a Berlin Township Trustee for 2 terms.
