Dale worked as a program evaluator at the Great Plains Community Mental Health Center and as a psychologist at the Community Guidance Center in Cleveland.

Dale Miller has served on the Cuyahoga County Council since 2010 and previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate from 1997 to 2010. He is the chairman of the Finance & Budgeting Committee. He was also elected to Cleveland City Council in 1979.
