Prior to becoming sheriff, Brian was a lieutenant and the director of the Drug Task Force at Columbiana County Sheriff's Office, where he has worked his entire career, starting as a dispatcher.

Brian McLaughlin is currently serving as the Columbiana County Sheriff. He was elected in 2020 and is serving his 1st term.
