Robert Matzie attended Ambridge Area High School and received an associate degree from the Community College of Beaver County. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Point Park University.  He was a member of the multi-municipal committee and a member of the Beaver County Bridge Committee. He previously served as the mayor of Ambridge and was elected to the Democratic State Committee to represent Beaver County.

Robert ran for State Representative in 2008 and is currently serving his sixth term.
