Matt Krause was born in Tyler, Texas, and currently lives in Haslet with his wife, Jennie, and their five children. He graduated from Liberty University School of Law. They are active members of First Baptist Church of Keller.

Matt Krause is a State Representative for District 93 in Texas. He previously ran the Texas office for a national, non-profit constitutional litigation firm.

Matt Krause has served as State Representative for District 93 since 2013 and was appointed Chairman of the Texas House Committee on General Investigating during the 87th Legislative Session. He has also held leadership positions including Chairman of the Tourism Caucus and Prayer Caucus, and Secretary and Treasurer of the Texas Freedom Caucus.

As a state senator, sponsored the “Save Chick-fil-A” Act (SB1978 - 86R) which prohibits cities and counties from taking adverse action against individuals based on their affiliation with religious organizations.
