Cosby Johnson is from Brunswick. He has a bachelor's degree from Valdosta State University. He is involved in several community organizations and initiatives aimed at fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among residents.

Cosby is currently the mayor of Brunswick. He was elected to the Brunswick City Commission in 2014 and has served as mayor since 2018.

As mayor, oversaw infrastructure improvements, revitalization of downtown Brunswick, and enhanced recreational facilities. 

As mayor, lobbied the Georgia legislature to pass a hate crimes bill and to repeal the state’s citizen’s arrest law.
