Judge Gary E. Jackson

Gary is from Atlanta, Georgia and graduated Northside High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from the University of Georgia.

Before taking the bench, Gary worked as an Assistant Legislative Counsel for the Georgia General Assembly and as a legal aide to Lt. Gov. Zell Miller. He opened his own law practice in 1977, focusing on commercial collection matters. In 1984, he was appointed by Mayor Andrew Young as a hearing officer for the Atlanta Bureau of Taxi Cabs and Vehicles for Hire. He also served as a Pro Hac Magistrate Judge and Pro Hac Judge in Atlanta's courts before being appointed as a full-time judge in 2000.
