Joe is currently a Huntington Woods City Commissioner. He was first elected to the Huntington Woods City Commission in 2015 and is currently serving a two-year partial term. Prior to being elected, he served as Chair of the Planning Commission, Vice-Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and a member of the Woodward 5 Advisory Board. He also served on the Zoning Board for six years and on the Planning Commission for six years.

Opposes the Credit Card Competition Act, believing it could "create more problems for consumers."
