Daniel is the executive director of the Grosse Pointe Public Safety Foundation. He previously served as the director of public safety for Grosse Pointe Farms, where he worked for 50 years. He started his career in 1971 as a lifeguard and later became the assistant park director.

Daniel's campaign for Grosse Pointe Farms City Council Member is his first entry into politics.
