She is a single mother to her only son, James A. Givens. She is the daughter of Rev. Rita Talley, associate minister at First Baptist Church of Romulus, and the late Deacon Eric Talley.

Tina is a finance professional. She previously worked in the banking industry for approximately 18 years. She also held various roles at Triumph Church, where she was the Department Head and Director of Evangelism and Outreach, focusing on helping the homeless, unemployed, and disadvantaged.
