Adura earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Wayne State University and a certificate in gerontology. She lives with her husband, Robert Calhoun Jr., in St. Clair Shores. She is a military spouse.

Adura has worked as a parole and probation agent for the Michigan Department of Corrections for several decades.

Adura's campaign for St. Clair Shores City Council Member is her first entry into politics.
