Laura is a nurse anesthetist. She works at the Michigan Association of Nurse Anesthetists (MANA), where she is currently the District II director for MANA in the final year of her second of two terms. She also co-founded The Front Porch coffee shop at Clarkston United Methodist Church in September 2018.

Laura is currently a council member for the City of the Village of Clarkston. She was first elected in 2021 and reelected in 2023. She serves as the mayor pro tem.
